Someone interesting is programming the music at Hale and Hearty Soups on 42nd st : “Let’s Twist Again” by Chubby Checker into Marshall Crenshaw’s “Someday, Someway” to James Brown’s “Get on the Good Foot” to Chuck Berry’s “Maybelline” to Janet Jackson’s “Runaway with my Love” to some Osabisa song I can’t remember the name of. I hope I didn’t get them fired by revealing this.
Current book: Phillip Pullman – The Amber Spyglass
“Someday, Someway” is a joyful song that I haven’t heard for years. Thank you for reminding me of it!
A couple of years ago I was obsessed with that song, listening to it when ever I could. It’s available on one of those Rhino “Just Can’t Get Enough” post punk anthologies. That particular volume also includes Graham Parsons (Don’t Bother With the) Local Girls, another great one.
That’s cool — thank you for sharing.
