It was likely the most I’ve read of your work. When stumbling across your journal, I knew nothing other than your user icon and the patches of text you put out.
An artist eh? I did some searches online. There’s bits and pieces here and there, but not much.
Back to the review: the overall tone was harsh, I had to look up a few words. It ultimately left me empty, seeing through the jaded eyes of an art critic- opinionated with conjecture.
Feh.

Thank god for webcams. If it wasn’t for those, I wouldn’t be reading this. Well, not likely perhaps.
The hours lost in front of that lens will never amount to what I’ve gained behind it.
… there isn’t much of a coherent representation of me and what I do online. I’ve had a website under construction for ages and ages, and in lieu of that it’s just the things that various organizations that I’ve worked with have up. As I read the the review now it doesn’t seem so harsh as confused: “There’s something about this artist, people seem to respect him, there’s things about the work I don’t get, a couple of these things are funny.” Not everything you’d want said about a group of work that spans the last 15 years, but in truth the comments that mean most are those that I get from people who know me, like Thor ( http://www.livejournal.com/users/thornyc/ ). Which I suppose is the argument for making more work more accessable online.
Thanks for doing all that poking around.
And I still don’t quite know what to do with the camming.
Did Reggie McDonald get a hold of you? I spke with him last night. I love your art. I hate coming home to find what I have just bought. I have to end up taking a tranquilizer before I open the bags…
…asking, Reggie did get hold of me via friendster – which I find to be a puzzlement, I have to say.(friendster that is, R himself is a different kind of puzzlement)
I’m suprized that you know the work, and thrilled that you like it.
And as for shopping – I used to have a real problem with doing it compulsively. Not so bad now but it is something that is a big temptaion for me in times of stress. Struggling to clear out all the stuff that clogs my living space is a big help towards curbing those purchase impulses.
Of course I know your work. I even met you years ago- late 80′s – when you were thin and had long hair- that was you right? And Reggie made some type of dolls for you… anyway- yes- I have always loved your work….

Re: It’s true
Confused was a term i used but backspaced it out. It’s likely more appropriate.
Poking around is better than reading tripe handed over in news tidbits. I frankly don’t care who the governor of California is.
As for camming, I learned how to smile.
