Here’s a nice thing about the new economy – Both I and my co-workers have less money to go around, and it’s forcing us to bring in more lunches from home. While this is making for a bit of a stackup of tupperware around the office microwave as people wait their turn to heat their homade grub, it also means that I’ve been much more inclined to sit in our little dining area sharing a chat at lunch time instead of staring at the screen in my office shoveling stuff into my face between meetings. The lunch break is becoming …an actual break. Engendering more warm feelings around the office.
Simple things, but I’m so prone to forgetting that just sharing a meal with someone is important.
I’m also very grateful today for having a job that provides me with a regular paycheck, especially since I was acutely feeling the lack of payday earlier this week. Now that that magic day has arrived, I’ve got a little buzz going from looking at my bank balance being printed in black as opposed to red pixels.
I like shooting New York at night again. The garish flash is my friend.
